Why Choose All Year Eavestroughing?

There are many reasons why you should choose All Year Eavestroughing. Here are a few things to look for when having your eavestrough done.

1

Proper Slope

Eavestrough needs to be installed so that the water runs toward the downspouts. Proper slope toward downspouts prevents water pooling.

If not installed with proper slope the water will sit in the eavestrough causing overflow and accelerated deterioration of the gutter system. Poor sloping creates overflow issues and accelerates gutter deterioration.

2

Quality Sealant

The type of sealant used is very important. Many installers use silicone based sealants that do not stand up well to UV damage and deteriorate quickly.

The caulking also needs to be applied evenly without air pockets. If the caulking is too thin it will crack in the winter, too thick and it can cause damming inside the gutter.

3

Metal Brackets

Two common types of brackets exist in the Edmonton area: nails and metal mounting brackets. Metal brackets are superior - they remain hidden for cleaner aesthetics and maintain grip over seasonal wood expansion/contraction cycles.

Nails work initially but can work loose over time as the fascia board expands and contracts through seasonal temperature changes. Metal brackets grip the fascia board and maintain their hold regardless of temperature fluctuations.

All Year uses only metal brackets.
